Częstochowa University of Technology was established in 1949 and is not only the oldest, but also the largest higher education institution in the region. Over 1,400 employees work there, including 840 academic teachers, of which 165 are independent scientific workers. All faculties of the University are authorized to award the Ph.D. degree, and three of them can also award the associate professorship. At present, nearly 20,000 students study on full-time or part-time courses within approx. 90 specialties on 18 faculties. The University also offers postgraduate studies on three faculties, currently covering over 300 students. Within the 57 years of the University’s history, over 40,000 graduates left the school, both with Eng. and M.Sc.Eng. degree.

The University offers an excellent academic background and student infrastructure: three student houses hosting nearly 2.000 people, modern canteen and the Main Library, as well as faculty libraries.
